

RED ONIONS
As with brown onions, there is a great variety and shape among red onions, but all are characterised by theirpurple-red skins and red stained flesh. They usually have a milder and sweeter flavour than the brown onions and are popular in salads because of their attractive colour.
WHITE ONIONS
These are usually medium to large onions with a white outer skin and white flesh. They are usually the most pungent tasting of all the onions and can be used for general cookery purposes.
PICKLE/BABY ONIONS
Pickle onions are smaller than the other varieties, hence their name as they are the variety used for “Pickled Onions”. As they are smaller yet taste similar to the brown onions they are often used in the ready meal industry or put whole in stews and casseroles.
PINK ONIONS
We are the first and only commercial grower of the unique Pink Onion in Britain. Careful research and breeding development has taken place over many years to be able to grow and supply a new variety. The flavour is intense, sweeter than an ordinary brown onion and has a wonderful aftertaste. It is extremely attractive and can be used in many food preparations but is likely to be most popular in salads and exotic cuisine.
